Continental Board Expansion Planned to Boost Corporate Strategy

Tire manufacturer Continental is planning a significant expansion of its management board. The push for this restructuring is being spearheaded by Sabrina Soussan, the chair of the Supervisory Board, according to Manager Magazin.

Citing sources within the company, the magazine reports that Soussan aims to expand the current leadership team, including the addition of three regional executive directors. These new roles would be responsible for the markets of the USA, Asia-Pacific, and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). Furthermore, the appointment of a dedicated Head of Production is also being discussed, which could potentially grow the executive board to a total of seven members.

Currently, the management board comprises CEO Christian Kötz, Head of Human Resources Ulrike Hintze, CFO Roland Welzbacher, and Conti-Tech Head Philip Nelles. However, Continent’s subsidiary Conti-Tech is expected to be sold in the coming months.

Soussan took over the leadership of the Supervisory Board when she replaced Wolfgang Reitzle at the end of April. Despite the ongoing plans, the structural changes to the executive board have not yet been formally approved by the company. A company spokesperson clarified, stating that the composition of the board falls under the purview of the Supervisory Board, which regularly reviews the structure.
