Super E10 Price Exceeds Two Euros Again Fuel Costs Rise

The cost of Super E10 fuel has again exceeded the €2 per liter mark. According to a recent ADAC analysis, the nationwide average for a liter of Super E10 currently stands at €2.008, representing an increase of 3.5 cents compared to the previous week. Diesel fuel also saw a price increase, rising by 1.4 cents to an average of €1.997 per liter.

ADAC reported that fuel discounts are now primarily benefiting consumers. The energy tax reduction, which took effect on May 1st for a temporary two-month period, had recently enabled a noticeable dip in fuel prices. However, the main reason for the most recent price jump was the higher crude oil price, which rose from approximately $105 to about $111.

In a consumer survey, the ADAC found that most car owners view the “Austria model”-a system that only permits price increases once daily at 12 o’clock-critically. The percentage of positive ratings remained consistently low at about 20 percent, while up to 50 percent of respondents rated the regulation negatively. Many drivers have adjusted their refueling habits, deliberately filling up before noon to avoid potentially higher prices.
