Schulze Slams AfD Personnel Plans Fears Foreign Control Over Saxony-Anhalt Leadership

Sachsen-Anhalt State Premier Sven Schulze (CDU) has expressed sharp criticism regarding potential staffing policies of the AfD. Speaking during an appearance on the ntv show “Pinar Atalay” on Monday, Schulze strongly condemned the prospect of outside intervention, stating, “I am quite sure that these people would not come from Saxony-Anhalt, but rather that Ms. Weidel would assign people from Switzerland who would then dictate who should be leadership figures in Saxony-Anhalt. I have no desire for that at all”.

The CDU politician warned that, in the event of an AfD government, central state posts could be filled by politicians who are foreign to the region. He stressed that the citizens of Saxony-Anhalt needed to be fully aware of the changes awaiting them. When discussing potential figures like former Counter-Intelligence President Hans-Georg Maaßen, Schulze dismissed the idea, concluding that Maaßen, like many others, would simply be “sent here by Weidel”. He concluded with a warning that it would be “regrettable for Saxony-Anhalt” if the state needed external figures from outside its borders merely to function as a government.
