The professional football club Eintracht Frankfurt announced on Sunday that it has terminated its cooperation with head coach Albert Riera, along with his co-coaches, Pablo Remón Arteta and Lorenzo Dolcetti, with immediate effect. The coaching staff had only taken over responsibility earlier this year, in February.
Under Riera’s leadership, the team achieved four wins, five draws, and five losses. The club ultimately finished the 2025/26 Bundesliga season in eighth place. Sport Director Markus Kroesche stated that the decision was reached “jointly following intensive discussions”. Kroesche added that Riera had taken charge during a difficult period, dedicating himself to the club with “great diligence” and “high commitment”.
Meanwhile, Riera took personal responsibility for the team’s sporting results. He explained that his goal had been to improve and make the squad successful. He expressed gratitude for being part of Eintracht Frankfurt’s history and wished the club nothing but the best for its future.
