On Sunday, a tiger escaped in a commercial area near Leipzig. According to reports citing official sources, the animal subsequently attacked and injured a person. The exotic cat is owned by a trainer who maintains a group of large felines in the Schkeuditz industrial zone. The lightly injured victim was reported to be one of the trainer’s assistants.
Following the incident, the police were initially deployed to the scene with a large contingent to secure the situation. The animal was eventually shot by law enforcement personnel at a local garden facility. Officials indicated that no other animals escaped from the captivity enclosure.
