The deficit in the statutory long-term care insurance program is anticipated to be significantly larger next year than previously estimated. According to reports from the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”, the gap between expected revenues and expenditures is not the six billion Euros originally stated by the Federal Minister of Health, Nina Warken (CDU), but rather exceeds 7.5 billion Euros. Minister Warken has shared this updated information with the state health ministers during the presentation of the planned law for reorganizing long-term care insurance (PNOG). Furthermore, the minister anticipates that the deficit will surpass 15 billion Euros by 2028.
