A building, which is located near the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, where Argentina will play Mexico today, was engulfed in flames.
Qatar’s Interior Ministry announced that the fire started at noon local time at a construction site.
So far only material damage is reported.
The stadium is 3.5 km from the site of the fire, but the smoke caused by the canister fire spread to a part of the city.
Today’s match is expected to be difficult for Argentina, after their shock defeat in the World Cup against Saudi Arabia.
If the South American nation loses, they will be eliminated from the tournament.
