The interaction continues into Thursday, when Klingbeil is scheduled to accompany the Chancellor on a visit to the Bundeswehr exercise grounds in Munster.
The positive images come after reports from a recent coalition committee meeting, where Merz and Klingbeil were allegedly involved in a heated exchange. While the Chancellor publicly denied these events, Klingbeil indirectly confirmed the passion of the dispute. During a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Klingbeil commented on the situation when asked about passionate debates, stating, “It is also okay to discuss things with passion, and I wouldn’t overvalue such things in any way”.
