The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) warns of a potential escalation from the pro-Iranian group known as Hayi within Europe. According to the BfV, the group has issued a warning that they no longer plan to limit themselves to “simple” attacks but are instead aiming to incorporate more dangerously potent tactics over the long term.
The authority interprets this as a possible transition in methods, suggesting a move away from acts of arson toward attacks involving explosives or live weapons. This heightened alert follows multiple attacks targeting Jewish and US-affiliated establishments across Europe since March 9th, including incidents in Germany itself. The BfV stated that the organization, “Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya” (Hayi), has claimed responsibility for these actions, particularly the arson attacks, through released videos.
These incidents have reportedly taken place during the night or early morning hours and, thus far, have resulted in no casualties. The primary targets have reportedly been facilities located in the Benelux countries and Great Britain. The BfV suspects that Hayi is backed by an Iraqi-Shiite network. The office noted that the group utilizes diverse channels across Shiite-extremist and pro-Iranian social media platforms to communicate about its activities. Furthermore, Hayi has recently begun to articulate its explicit political motivation and has openly issued threats against Israeli facilities and those it terms the “enemies of Islam” throughout Europe.
