Iran Sees Progress in Peace Talks With United States

During the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States aimed at ending the war, Iranian sources report seeing progress. However, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, stated in an address on Iranian state television that the conflicting parties are still far from reaching an agreement. Ghalibaf, who is also one of the Iranian negotiators, noted that while some progress has been made in talks, many fundamental points and gaps remain unresolved. He is currently regarded as both the de facto defense minister and the most powerful politician within Iran’s political structure. Meanwhile, reports from the United States indicated that the Trump administration might send high-ranking representatives to Pakistan within a few days to conduct a second round of talks. Last weekend, Vice President JD Vance led a marathon session of direct discussions in Islamabad, although these talks initially failed to yield any results.
