US President Donald Trump announced a ten-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon on Thursday. According to a post on his personal platform, the armistice was achieved following discussions he held with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The ceasefire is scheduled to commence at 11 p.m. German time. Trump also mentioned that the two nations gathered in Washington, D.C., for the first time in 34 years on Tuesday, joined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Furthermore, he stated that he directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Rubio, along with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Raizin Caine, to collaborate with Israel and Lebanon in the effort to achieve lasting peace.
