The German Football Association (DFB) is launching a dedicated linear Pay-TV channel called “DFB.TV” scheduled to debut on May 22nd. The channel aims to consolidate and revitalize the entire spectrum of German football through its programming.
Viewers can anticipate extensive content coverage, including live streams of youth national teams, the Women’s 2. Bundesliga, the amateur final day, as well as dedicated segments on futsal, beach soccer, and the DFB e-Pokal. Furthermore, the broadcast intends to highlight talent development and contemporary training methodologies, specifically featuring concepts like “Training Philosophy Germany”.
The channel will be implemented as a joint venture with the Sportainment Media Group from Hamburg, a company already operating multiple sports channels. Regarding accessibility, DFB.TV will be available in HD quality across several major German Pay platforms, including DAZN, HD+, Vodafone, and Zattoo; negotiations are reportedly underway with additional providers. Additionally, the service will be directly bookable through a dedicated app.
The channel premiere is timed for the evening preceding the men’s DFB Cup Final. Showings will begin on May 23rd with live action from the amateur final day. Subsequent broadcast plans include airing highlights from the men’s and women’s DFB Cup, the 3. Liga, the Women’s Bundesliga, and the national team matches.
