Rival football supporters from the Dynamo Dresden and 1. FC Nürnberg clubs planned to engage in a massive brawl involving approximately 200 people. According to the police, this so-called “third-party confrontation” was scheduled to take place in an industrial area near Eisfeld in Thuringia during the night from Friday to Saturday. Consequently, the Dresden Police Department mobilized forces from Thuringia, Saxony, and the federal police, who also participated in the event with 220 officers. A total of 214 individuals were subjected to an “identity verification” process, and the Dresden Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated preliminary investigations against those involved.
