Actor Mario Adorf passed away on Wednesday after a short illness at the age of 95 in his Paris apartment, according to reports from his management cited by “Bild”. Throughout his multi-decade career, Adorf was active not only as an actor but also as a narrator for audiobooks and radio plays, a voice actor, and an author. In 1963, he took on the villain in the first installment of the “Winnetou” trilogy. Over the following decades, he appeared in numerous major roles, often initially as the antagonist, and later frequently playing patriarchal figures. Adorf also achieved success in international cinema, including in Italy. He remained in front of the camera until his later years, notably playing Karl Marx in the docu-drama “Karl Marx – der deutsche Prophet” (Karl Marx: The German Prophet) in 2018.
