A representative from ADAC told the dts news agency on Wednesday that, a week after entering effect, the new fueling station regulation still shows no discernible effect on fuel price development. On Tuesday, the average price for a liter of diesel across Germany was 2.447 euros. This represented an increase of 13.1 cents compared to the previous week, setting another all-time high. The price for Super E10 rose by 8.1 cents to an average of 2.188 euros per liter, placing gasoline prices just below their previous record level. Since last Wednesday, Germany has adopted the so-called “Austria model” which limits fuel stations to raising prices only once a day at 12:00 PM. However, price reductions can still be made at any time. It remains to be seen how the ceasefire in the Middle East will impact fuel prices, although the market reacted by seeing a significant drop in oil prices on Wednesday morning.
