Israel Slams US Ceasefire Excluding Lebanon Amid Tensions

According to the Israeli government, a two-week ceasefire agreement established between the United States and Iran in the Middle East does not apply to Lebanon. A statement from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that Israel supports President Donald Trump’s decision to pause attacks against Iran for two weeks, provided Iran immediately opens the Strait of Hormuz and stops all attacks directed at the US, Israel, and countries in the region. However, the statement specified that Lebanon is excluded from this agreement. This position contradicts a statement made by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who had mediated the deal between the US and Iran, according to which Lebanon is included in the agreement. Notably, Trump did not mention Lebanon in his own statement.
