Gunshots were fired outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday. According to several Turkish media outlets, the incident involved a firefight between at least three attackers and security personnel. Reports indicate that at least one of the attackers was killed, and two other assailants along with two police officers sustained injuries. Initially, the precise circumstances of the incident were unclear. It is reported that the attackers were armed with long guns. Due to a permanent armed police presence in the area surrounding the Israeli consulate in the Turkish metropolis, the perpetrators were apparently unable to gain entry into the building.
