Research conducted by Insa indicates that the AfD has once again become the strongest political force in Germany. According to the weekly “Sunday Trend” which polling institute reports for “Bild am Sonntag”, the AfD managed to hold its standing from the previous week at 26%. In contrast, the CDU/CSU saw a slight decline, losing one percentage point and settling at 25%.
The SPD also dropped by one point, reaching 13%. The Greens remained stable at 12%, while Die Linke stood at 11%. Sahra Wagenknecht’s Alliance (BSW) showed a modest improvement, climbing to 4% (+1), though the FDP continued to lag significantly below the 5% threshold with 3%. The remaining parties collectively increased their support by one percentage point, totaling 6%.
In the survey, Insa polled 1,199 individuals for “Bild” between March 30 and April 2, 2026, asking the question: “If the federal election were held this coming Sunday, how would you vote?”
