Trump Signals Near End of Iran War as US Operation Leaves Iran No Threat

During his highly anticipated televised address, President Donald Trump reiterated his call for a quick end to the Iran conflict. He said that after the 32‑day U.S. military operation, “Iran now essentially poses no longer a threat”. Trump added that the United States “is on the best track to reach all of its military objectives soon”. He spoke of an upcoming “two to three weeks” during which the country would be struck “extremely hard” adding, “We will bring them back into the Stone Age where they belong”. He stated that diplomatic talks would continue in the meantime.

The core of his remarks repeated statements he had made in the days before. Trump also addressed the sharp rise in energy prices caused by the war. He acknowledged that many Americans are worried about the recent spike in gasoline prices, saying the “short‑term increase is solely due to the Iranian regime’s insane terror attacks on commercial oil tankers and neighboring countries”.
