LinkedIn Says Users Should Skip “AI Junk” as CEO Warns of Social Media AI Risks

LinkedIn’s chief, Ryan Roslansky, has warned about the pitfalls of AI‑generated content on social networks. “Just pressing a button and having AI write LinkedIn posts all day isn’t productive for anyone” he told Germany’s “Handelsblatt” in its Wednesday edition.

To address the issue, LinkedIn plans to introduce “friendliness warnings”. An assistant will flag posts that evidently appear to be AI‑written, and if a user dismisses the warning, the algorithm won’t punish them directly, but Roslansky says “the community will”. Content that the community dismisses as “AI garbage”-with no comments or likes-simply fails to reach many people.

Roslansky argues that the workplace is changing rapidly in the age of AI. Human abilities are becoming more important, not less. Communication, creativity, and curiosity will determine professional success. “If everyone can generate an Excel table with AI, what else sets you apart? Your voice, your personality, and ultimately your humanity”.
