Trump Issues New Threat to Iran as Hormuz Blockade Targets Energy Infrastructure

Donald Trump has reiterated his threat against Iran, saying that if the United States does not resolve its talks and the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, American forces will target Iranian energy infrastructure.

On Monday, the former U.S. president posted on Truth Social: “The United States of America is conducting serious conversations with a new, more reasonable government to end our military operations in Iran”. He added that “great progress” has been made, but if no agreement is reached soon and the strait stays closed, the U.S. military would withdraw from Iran by “destroying all power plants, oil sources, Kharg Island, and possibly all desalination facilities”.

Trump said these attacks have not yet been carried out but would be retaliation for the many soldiers “murdered and killed by Iran during the 47‑year ‘terror rule’ of the old regime”.
