Indonesian UNIFIL Soldier Killed in Lebanon by Projectile

An Indonesian UN peace‑keeper was killed in Lebanon when a projectile detonated near a UN position close to the town of Adchit al‑Qusayr on Sunday. The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death and reported that three other Indonesian soldiers sustained injuries.

The UN mission UNIFIL stated that the origin of the projectile is unknown and an investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances of the incident. Indonesia sharply condemned the attack and called for a thorough inquiry, emphasizing that the safety of UN peacekeepers must always be guaranteed.
