Stuttgart Routs Augsburg 5-2 with Early Undav Goal

At the conclusion of the 27th round of the Bundesliga, VfB Stuttgart secured a 5‑2 victory over FC Augsburg.

From the opening whistle Stuttgart established dominance. In the 12th minute, Deniz Undav put the team ahead with a short-range finish from a deflected cross by Stiller. Tiago Tomás doubled the advantage in the 29th minute after receiving a through‑ball by Nartey. Two minutes later, Nikolas Nartey sealed a 3‑0 lead with a sharp finish off a cross from Mittelstädt.

Augsburg tried to mount a comeback after the break. Fabian Rieder narrowed the margin in the 57th minute, capitalising on a cross from Fellhauer. Stuttgart replied immediately as Undav restored his team’s advantage with a second goal in the 58th minute, converting a rebound from a shot by Führich. Further goals fell to Anton Kade in the 71st minute, who also used a rebound, and finally Ermedin Demirovic sealed the win in the 83rd minute after a wide throw‑in which was awkwardly extended by Schlotterbeck and culminated in a cross that found an empty net.

Stuttgart controlled the latter part of the match, limiting Augsburg’s chances. The result lifts the Swabians to third place in the standings, while the Augsburger remain in tenth. Following the international break on 4 April, Stuttgart will face the league rivals Borussia Dortmund, and Augsburg will take on HSV a day later.
