Donald Trump refuted a media report that the United States’ objectives in the Iran conflict had not been achieved. In a post on his platform Truth Social on Saturday, he wrote, “Yes, I did, and weeks earlier than planned”.

He went on to criticize the Iranian leadership, saying, “Their leadership is gone, their navy and air force are finished, they have absolutely no defense and they want a deal”. Trump added that he himself does not want a deal.

In the same post he criticized the New York Times for what he called “incompetent election coverage” about him, stating that the newspaper is always wrong. He singled out journalist David Sanger, calling him “mediocre”.
