Germany Tightens Tourist Security Amid Iran Terror Threat

Following the terrorist threat against tourists worldwide issued by Iran, German security agencies are adjusting their measures. Christoph Ploß, the federal government’s tourism commissioner and a CDU politician, told the “Bild” newspaper that German security forces are especially vigilant in light of the situation in Iran. They are monitoring popular tourism areas and modifying their operations to respond to the evolving circumstances. Ploß emphasized that the authorities are doing everything possible to protect people in Germany, whether they are residents or visitors.

He also stressed that Iran’s actions endanger the safety of people around the globe. “The Mullahs should know that we will not let their threats undermine our lifestyle or our open society” he added.
