The Cockpit Association has warned that pilots could walk off the job at Eurowings over the Easter holidays. “A strike during the Easter period is still a possibility” spokesperson Heike Wagner told the “Rheinische Post” on Thursday.
Wagner added that the employer must present a realistic offer before any action is taken, and until such an offer is made the union reserves the right to pursue further measures.
When asked how early such actions would be announced, she explained that the notice period is ultimately at the union’s discretion. “We always weigh the members’ interests and the surrounding circumstances carefully before deciding on a date” she said.
Already, the Cockpit Association has declared the wage talks on company pension arrangements with Eurowings a failure. In a preliminary vote, 94 % of the members who responded supported the option of industrial action.
