Four days before the Rhineland-Palatinate state election, the CDU remains slightly ahead in voter favourability according to the latest survey by Insa. In the poll conducted for the “Bild” Thursday edition, the CDU stands at 28 % of the vote, a drop of one point from the September 2025 survey and roughly equal to the 2021 state election level.
The SPD now records 27 % (+5), marking a strong recovery. The Greens hold steady at nine %. The AfD, while showing a notable gain compared to the 2021 election, has slipped three percentage points from the previous poll, settling at 20 %. Freie Wähler and the Left both hover around five %, making entry into the state parliament a tight race for those groups.
The poll’s data were collected from 10 to 17 March, surveying 1,000 respondents online.
