After recent military strikes on Iran, President Donald Trump urged increased participation from his Western allies. Writing on Truth Social on Saturday, he said that nations that rely on oil shipping through the Strait of Hormuz must secure that passage and that the United States would offer help. Trump added that Washington would coordinate with those countries to ensure the operation proceeds “quickly, smoothly, and successfully”. He insisted the Gulf deployment should have been a joint effort from the beginning and will now be conducted as such, stressing that the world will march toward “harmony, security and lasting peace”.
Trump also claimed that the United States had defeated Iran “militarily, economically, and in every other way, and fully weakened it”.
