At the state election in Baden-Württemberg, about 41 % of eligible voters had cast their ballots in a polling station by 2 p.m. By comparison, at the same time in the 2021 election turnout was roughly 31 %. The 2 p.m. figures did not include votes from mail‑in ballots. It should also be noted that, five years earlier, fewer people had come to the polling stations because of COVID‑related restrictions.
Polling stations will stay open until 6 p.m., and the first projections are expected immediately after closing. In the 2021 election, the final official turnout was 63.8 %.
