The U.S. Department of Defense confirmed that three of its F‑15E Strike Eagle fighters crashed over Kuwait. The Pentagon said the cause was a friendly‑fire incident.

According to the statement, the accident occurred during active combat operations that included attacks by Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones. U.S. jets were mistakenly shot down by the Kuwaiti air defense system.

All six crew members ejected using their ejection seats and were rescued unharmed. They are reported to be in a “stable condition”. The Department of Defense said the investigation into the incident’s precise cause is ongoing.
