The Federal Police are on heightened alert at German train stations and airports amid the expanding conflict in Iran.
Police Union (GdP) chairman for the Federal Police area, Andreas Roßkopf, told the “Rheinische Post” (Tuesday edition) that the increased readiness applies especially to stations and airports, describing them as critical infrastructure.
He added that the situation in the Middle East-particularly in Iran-has prompted greater vigilance in daily duty across Germany.
Roßkopf said it is currently impossible to precisely gauge whether sleeper cells might become active, but the security authorities are well prepared and remain highly alert.
