After the airstrikes carried out by Israel and the United States on Iranian targets and the ensuing military response, the German Foreign Office issued travel warnings covering almost the entire Middle East. In the notice released on Saturday, it specifically lists Israel, Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Yemen. The warning stresses that “further attacks should be expected” and notes that the airspaces of Israel and Iran have already been closed, with the possibility of additional airspace restrictions at any time. Several airlines have already suspended operations to the region.
German citizens currently in the area are urged to register on the Foreign Office’s crisis‑preparedness list. Travelers are told to take warnings about impending air attacks seriously, immediately seek nearby shelter or the interior of a building and stay away from windows during an alert. They are also advised to follow instructions from local authorities and security forces.
