Germany Tightens Security for Jewish Sites Amid Escalating Iran Tensions

After Israel’s attack on Iran and the subsequent Iranian retaliation, German security authorities have heightened protection for Israeli and Jewish sites. A spokesperson from the Berlin police told the Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland that security measures have been “adjusted” and that supporters of exiled Iran officials are being escorted. A first gathering is slated for Saturday in the Kreuzberg district.

In Bremen, Interior Senator Eva Högl (SPD) explained to the same outlet that local agencies are closely monitoring the international situation and remain ready to respond and adjust measures as needed. “We are always prepared to react to new developments” she said, adding that concrete protective steps are not disclosed publicly for safety reasons.

A spokesperson for the North Rhine-Westphalia Interior Ministry echoed the stance, simply stating, “We are prepared”.
