The Secret Service in the United States fired upon a person early Sunday morning after the individual allegedly breached the secure fence surrounding President Donald Trump’s Mar‑a‑Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Agents said the suspect was a man in his early twenties.
At about 1:30 a.m. the suspect had gained “unauthorized” access to the compound. He was seen near the north gate, holding items that looked like a shotgun and a gasoline can.
When agents and a local police officer opened fire, the man was declared dead on the scene. No injuries were reported among the security personnel, and President Trump was not on the grounds at the time of the incident. Further details were initially unclear.
