A year after the German federal election, most citizens would still choose the same party as they did on 23 February 2025, a survey conducted by the Insa institute for “Bild am Sonntag” shows.

According to the poll, 66 % of respondents said they would vote for the same party today, 16 % would pick a different one, and 18 % were undecided. Loyalty is especially strong among Union supporters: 80 % of CDU/CSU voters indicated they would vote for the Union again.

The survey was carried out with 1,003 participants between 19 and 20 February 2026.
