Bundesarbeitsministerin Bärbel Bas, who entered office in May, has held only two on‑site visits to companies since then. According to the Bild (Saturday edition), based on information from the BMAS, she attended a meeting with the “Allianz für Aus‑ und Weiterbildung” at the Aqua‑Campus of the Berliner Wasserbetriebe on 10 November 2025. Her next on‑site visit occurred on 21 January 2026 when she visited ABB AG’s training centre in Berlin. The ministry did not list any further company visits in response to Bild’s request.
In addition to those visits, Bas met with representatives of Volkswagen and Deutsche Bahn, as well as union and works‑ council members from Thyssenkrupp, but these encounters did not involve an in‑person, on‑site company visit.
The Bild article further reports that Bas has held a total of 15 meetings with employer representatives since taking office. These meetings involved organisations such as the Bundesvereinigung der Deutschen Arbeitgeberverbände (BDA), Deutsche Industrie‑ und Handelskammer (DIHK), Handelsverband Deutschland (HDE), and Zentralverband des Deutschen Handwerks (ZDH). She has also met with a broad group of employee representatives, including the Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund (DGB), IG Metall, IG BCE (Industriegewerkschaft Bergbau, Chemie, Energie), IG BAU, Gewerkschaft Erziehung und Wissenschaft (GEW), Sozialverband VdK Deutschland, Sozialverband Deutschland (SoVD), Bundesverband der Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO), and the Paritätische Gesamtverband. In total, Bild cites 21 meetings with worker representatives.
