On the final day of the 22nd match‑day in the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig and RB Wolfsburg finished in a 2-2 draw on Sunday evening.
The game started fiercely, with Leipzig applying early pressure. They created several dangerous chances, including a back‑heel flick by Conrad Harder in the 19th minute and a powerful cross from Brajan Gruda that was cleared in the last moments by Wolfsburg’s Saël Kumbedi in the 43rd minute. Leipzig had plenty of opportunities to take the lead.
Wolfsburg’s goal‑keeper, Kamil Grabara, made a standout performance. In the 41st minute he stopped a close‑range shot from Gruda that could have almost gone in. The equaliser came fast: in the 70th minute, Yan Diomande capitalised on a mistake by Grabara at the kick‑off, when Gruda inadvertently struck him. Diomande calmly finished the rebound for a 1-1 draw.
Wolfsburg answered quickly again. In the 78th minute, Mattias Svanberg lifted the ball from a quick combination and headed into the far corner, giving the visitors a second 1-0 lead.
The final act came from Leipzig. In the 89th minute, Brajan Gruda produced a stunning long‑range strike to level the match 2-2. The winter newcomer cut away from the right corner of the penalty box and flicked the ball with his left foot into the top left corner – a real dream goal.
In the closing minutes Leipzig pushed for a win, but Wolfsburg defended fiercely. A header from Rômulo in the 90th minute, after a Gruda cross, was the match’s last real threat.
The result leaves both sides satisfied: Leipzig can take pride in their attitude and dominance in the first half, while Wolfsburg can breathe a sigh of relief with a point to help them in the relegation fight.
