At the Munich Security Conference, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called for stronger ties with Europe, framing his remarks in the context of the current U.S. administration. He pointed out that past mistakes-such as the “climate cult” and the allowance of large‑scale migration-have threatened the sustainability of “our culture” and were made “together”; therefore they must also be corrected together. While he acknowledged that the United States could act alone if necessary, he preferred cooperation with Europe and referenced shared history and values.
Regarding the Ukraine conflict, Rubio said he was uncertain whether Russia genuinely desired a resolution. “The Russians say they do, but we don’t know if we can reach acceptable agreements” he remarked.
