A new British Prime Minister must be in office by Friday 28 October.
This was announced by Graham Brady, leader of the so-called 1922 Committee, which represents conservative members of parliament.
“It will be possible to have a ballot and complete the leadership election by Friday, October 28,” Brady told reporters.
That would put a new prime minister in Downing Street. Liz Truss, the Prime Minister of Great Britain resigned this Thursday.
In front of dozens of journalists, she said that she came to office at a time of “great economic and international instability”.
She stated that she cannot hand over the mandate she was elected by the members of the conservatives and therefore she is resigning.
