At matchday 21 of the 2. Bundesliga, Hertha BSC secured a convincing 3‑0 win over SV Elversberg. The Berlin club opened the scoring in the first half with a header from Pascal Klemens. In the second half Luca Schuler and Toni Leistner extended the advantage, and while Elversberg produced a few chances, they could not conquer goalkeeper Tjark Ernst.
Elsewhere, Schalke 04 and Dynamo Dresden split points in a 2‑2 draw. Edin Džeko gave Schalke an early double‑scoring burst, but Dresden fought back. An own goal by Hasan Kurucay and a header from Thomas Keller levelled the match, and Schalke’s keeper Loris Karius let both goals through.
SC Paderborn edged past 1 FC Nürnberg 2‑1. Sebastian Klaas converted a penalty to give Paderborn the lead, and Laurin Curda extended it to 2‑0. Nuremberg’s lone counter came through Luka Lochoshvili, but Paderborn held on to the win. Nürnberg also played short‑handed after a red card to Rafael Lubach.
