Germany’s service sector achieved a calendar‑ and seasonally adjusted real decline of 0.4 % in November 2025 and a nominal drop of 0.3 % compared with October 2025, according to preliminary figures released by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on Thursday.
When compared with the same month a year earlier, sales rose by 0.6 % in real terms and 2.5 % nominally.
Among the individual subsectors, the largest real sales fall came from other economic services-including rental of movable goods and workforce mediation-down 1.4 %. Property and housing services followed with a 1.3 % decrease. Freelance, scientific and technical services, as well as transport and storage, recorded modest declines of 0.4 % and 0.1 %, respectively. In contrast, sales in information and communication grew by 0.1 %.
