After the fake referendums held in the four regions of Ukraine, the Kremlin announces that President Vladimir Putin will sign a law on their annexation this Friday.
Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that administrators of regions appointed by Moscow will sign treaties to become part of the Russian Federation.
Voting conducted under military supervision has been criticized by the West.
According to Russian officials, the four regions, which represent about 15% of Ukraine, voted overwhelmingly to join Russia.
Ukraine says it will continue to fight to liberate the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
