The German Federal Interior Minister, Alexander Dobrindt (CSU), intends to advocate for the establishment of asylum reception centers located outside of the European Union at the “Munich Migration Meeting” scheduled for Saturday. Dobrindt, in comments to Bild newspaper, indicated his desire to propose a coordinated implementation of this concept with EU member states who are already supportive of the idea.
“Europe needs clarity, consistency and control in migration policy” Dobrindt stated. He described the proposed centers, referred to as “Return Hubs” as representing an innovative approach. The stated intention is to send a clear signal: individuals without the right to remain in Europe must leave.
The specific nations considered suitable for hosting such centers in third countries was not elaborated upon by the CSU politician. The initiative aims to address complexities within European migration management and foster a more structured approach to processing asylum claims.
