The Palestinian group Hamas has stated its willingness to release all Israeli prisoners, encompassing both the living and those deceased, as a condition for ending Israel’s military operations in Gaza and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory. This proposal aligns with elements outlined in a plan previously associated with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a statement released on the Telegram messaging platform on Friday, Hamas affirmed its readiness to immediately engage in negotiations through mediators to discuss the specifics of such an agreement.
Furthermore, the group expressed its acceptance of transferring the administration of the Gaza Strip to an independent committee comprised of Palestinian technocrats, supported by the wider Arab and Islamic world.
Hamas indicated that other considerations detailed in the aforementioned plan concerning the future of Gaza and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people would be addressed within a comprehensive Palestinian national framework. The organization stated its intention to participate in and contribute responsibly to this framework, adhering to a unified national position and relevant international law and resolutions.
