Bahn Reform Faces Demands

A senior figure within the Social Democratic Party (SPD) has voiced expectations for a significant shift in strategy for the national railway company. Armand Zorn, parliamentary group deputy leader, emphasized the need for demonstrable and rapid improvements in service.

He stated that immediate and tangible changes are crucial for customers to perceive a positive transformation and renewed direction. The ultimate goal, he explained, is to establish a railway system that can be a source of national pride, serving as the backbone of mobility rather than a source of obstruction.

Beyond punctuality, Zorn underscored the importance of economic viability and achieving sustainable financial stability. “Ultimately, it’s about the company returning to profitability and consistently achieving positive financial results” he said.

Acknowledging the vital role of employees, Zorn highlighted their contribution to revitalizing the railway and driving its future success.
