Authorities conducted raids targeting eight individuals suspected of forming a potentially right-wing extremist armed group across three German states on Tuesday. Searches took place in Lower Saxony, Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia, with a total of 13 locations searched, according to the Celle Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The suspects, aged between 32 and 57, are believed to have established a group with suspected right-wing extremist leanings. Four of the individuals are also under investigation for alleged possession of illegal firearms and fully automatic weapons.
In April 2024, the Lower Saxony State Criminal Investigation Department previously confiscated a pistol and ammunition from one of the suspects.
The Tuesday raids were aimed at locating and securing weapons and to gather further information regarding the group’s activities. Police operations were ongoing at the time of reporting.
