German exports of medical technology products to Russia reached record levels in the first half of 2025, according to data released by the Federal Statistical Office and reported by “Welt am Sonntag.
From January to June 2025, the Federal Republic exported medical technology items valued at approximately €375 million to Russia. This represents a 6.6 percent increase in export value compared to the first half of 2024.
The value of medical technology products exported to Russia during the first six months of 2025 is the highest recorded since the onset of the conflict in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Notably, Germany had not achieved such high export values for medical technology to Russia in the years prior to the war, including the first half-years of 2020 and 2021. While the statistics are not adjusted for price inflation, this factor contributes to the observed increase.
