Following the recent drone incident in Poland, German Green Party leader Felix Banaszak has called for a new package of sanctions against Russia. Speaking to RTL and ntv on Friday, Banaszak emphasized the need for more decisive action beyond mere condemnation.
He highlighted that Germany and the European Union continue to import Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) and uranium, suggesting further possibilities for sanctions in these areas. Banaszak stressed the importance of increased consistency in supporting Ukraine, arguing that only resolve, clarity and a firm stance would have an impact on Russia.
The Green Party leader underscored the need for a closely coordinated response from the European Union and NATO member states. He expressed concern about what he described as cautious messaging coming from the United States, emphasizing the need for a unified front.
