During the current parliamentary session, a total of 13 orders for conduct were issued up to the final day before the summer recess on July 11, 2025. According to information released by the Bundestag administration in response to a request from the “Rheinische Post” the vast majority of these (twelve) were directed towards members of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, with one addressed to a member of the Left party.
Specific instances cited included two occasions where AfD members referred to speakers as “left-wing extremists” and three instances where accusations of forming a “cartel” were leveled against other parties represented in the Bundestag.
The AfD Member of Parliament Martin Reichardt received the highest number of orders for conduct, totaling three. These included instances of interjections such as “You are a traitor to the fatherland” and a derogatory reference to a Green party representative as a “chatterbox” during their speech.
In a notable exchange, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) was accused of lying during his address by Left party MP Luigi Pantisano. This prompted Bundestag President Julia Klöckner (CDU) to issue an order for conduct against Pantisano.
