New polling data indicates a shift in voter preferences within Germany, with the Alternative for Germany (AfD) experiencing a slight increase in support. According to the latest “Meinungstrend” survey conducted by the Institute for Opinion Research (Insa) and reported by “Bild” newspaper, the AfD currently stands at 25.5 percent. This represents a gain of half a percentage point compared to the previous week.
The Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) alliance also registers 25.5 percent, placing them level with the AfD. The Social Democratic Party (SPD) maintains 14.5 percent of the vote. Combined, the CDU/CSU and SPD achieve only 40 percent of the potential electorate.
The Green Party currently polls at 11 percent, while the Left party has seen a decrease, losing one percentage point to reach 10 percent. The Bewegungs Solidarität Deutschland (BSW) and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) both remain below the five percent threshold, registering 4.5 and 3.5 percent respectively.
